History

Chanoine Frères is the second oldest Champagne house, founded under the reign of Louis XV.

It was in 1730 that Pierre Chanoine founded Chanoine Frères, digging the first Champagne cellars on rue du Faubourg in Epernay to store his wines in bottles rather than barrels, following the royal edict of 25 March 1728.

Nearly three centuries later, the family attachment and sense of transmission remain intact and essential.

Today, some fifty craftsmen who are experts in their trade continue to perpetuate the Chanoine style wines of quality and character made mainly from Pinot Noir grapes.
